Clan Donald Skye - Our legacy - Your experience
Visit Clan Donald Skye's 20,000-acre estate on the stunning
Sleat peninsula, with breathtaking views across the sea to the
Knoydart hills and north to the world-famous Cuillin mountain
range.
Our 40-acre woodland garden, dating back to the 1600s,
surrounds the imposing ruin of Armadale Castle and its Gothic
wing. Elegant lawns, terraced walks, blossoming borders,
landscaped ponds brimming with wildlife and its beautiful spring
carpet of bluebells make it one of the Isle of Skye's treasures.
Explore the nature trails and walks beyond the garden leading
to ancient woodlands and hidden beaches where you might see
whales, eagles and red deer.
Discover the history of the Gaels, and Clan Donald, one of
Scotland's greatest clans, in the Museum of the Isles. You can
investigate your own ancestry and follow in the footsteps of its
chiefs and the famous Flora MacDonald, Bonnie Prince Charlie's
helper, who married here.
Visit our gift shops and indulge yourself with the hearty home
cooking of our Stables Restaurant to round off a family day
out.
Centuries of history, hundreds of experiences, 20,000 acres of
Scotland's glorious outdoors… one visit might not be enough to
live it all!
