Filming locations

Clan Donald Skye's Estate provides numerous options to filmmakers including rugged landscape with spectacular views, ancient native woodlands, unique geological formations, elegant formal gardens and gothic ruins. The Estate played host to several film units in 2009 alone.

BBC Scotland’s prestigious series "A History of Scotland" utilised the backdrop of Armadale Castle. A new BBC family series entitled "Drop Zone" features the entire Estate for its first episode which will be aired nationally in 2010.

"Seachd: The Inaccessible Pinnacle", the first feature-length Gaelic film, was filmed on many locations from the Estate.

If you would like to know more about the facilities we can offer film units, please contact Christine Jamieson, Marketing Manager, on 01471 844 243.
