Film Locations

Clan Donald Skye’s Estate provides numerous options to filmmakers including rugged landscape with spectacular views, ancient native woodlands, unique geological formations, elegant formal gardens and gothic ruins. The Estate played host to several film units in 2009 alone.

BBC Scotland’s prestigious series “A History of Scotland” utilised the backdrop of Armadale Castle.

“Seachd: The Inaccessible Pinnacle”, the first feature-length Gaelic film, was filmed on many locations from the Estate.
